It's already done.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him." Ephesians 1:3-6

Hey Lighbrights! I'm back from vacation and this week's blog is about the promise of our spiritual blessings found in the book of Ephesians. The verse above is not one that many pastors speak of in spiritual terms though I've heard it quoted plenty by those speaking about prosperity. Some kind of way those preachers have equated this verse to be about physical blessings on this side, when the text literally says the opposite. If as Christians, we realize that what has manifested in the physical realm was first purposed and carried out in the spiritual realm, we could understand this promise in Ephesians much better.

God is spirit and He operates in both realms-since He indeed created both. We-humans, mostly operate out of our physical beings first, then once we are renewed and born again thru faith in Jesus Christ and given the Holy Spirit, do we properly operate in the Spirit. The spiritual realm becomes more real to us, we access it thru our prayer life and our faith walk.

The promise of this verse gives us eternal hope to know we have already been given everything we need to overcome anything we may face in life.

Whatever measure of faith we need, we have it. Whatever hope in those hopeless times we need to cipher from, it's available. Strength, perseverance, longsuffering- these gifts of the Spirit have already been deposited into us. We just need to tap into them. Now the other side of tapping into those gifts often comes thru trials and the testing of our faith.

Clark Kent could never act as Superman, if there was never a need for him. Our kids wouldn't know the mountains we would go to move for them, unless they were faced with them. Spiritual blessings are often tested and found to be profound and powerful in our moment of need and we act upon belief and faith that God has already given us in those abilities at those times.

When walking with your "it's already done" attitude your faith will definitely be tried. Walking and living by faith automatically attracts our enemy. Look at the testimony of Job. Job was minding his business, enjoying his children and all the Lord had blessed him with. He was living in his spiritual and physical blessings abundantly....and here comes Satan, the accuser.

We also will have our own "Job moments" in life.

1 Cor. 2: 9-8 says And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

It is God that grants us grace along with the Holy Spirit that reminds us that we have already been created for good works and to bring God glory. In realizing this we should pray as Jesus instructed His disciples - Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Praying the will of the Father is exactly what we need to fuel an "it's already done attitude".

If you need to see how this look in a practical way, look to the scriptures.

With Jesus's 1st miracle of turning water into wine, His mother displayed this already done attitude when she told the servants to bring to Jesus whatever He asked of them. She told Jesus the problem, and then displayed expectation that He would fix the situation. Rahab acted in faith telling her family to be at her house so they could all be delivered when the Israelites came to take the city. She believed that her and her kin would be saved, and because she acted this out, they were! The disciples acted out an it's already done attitude when they all gathered together to receive the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. They didn't know what to expect but they came together anyway expecting God to move.

The bible is full of people who displayed an its's already done attitude.

I encourage you this week and the rest of April, to walk out your faith.

Believe the promises God has given us in His word. The spiritual promises- not just those of prosperity. Money, houses, and things will fade. It is our faith that will grant us favor in the next life to come. Displaying and walking out the fruits of the spirit is way more valuable. Because it is those things we will draw strength from when they enemy comes to discourage and attack us.

Walk like you know who your Father is. Walk like it's already done!

Until next time

Keep shining!

Kee Isadore
