WIRED for purpose

Writer: Kee IsadoreKee Isadore

HEY YALL HEY!

I hope you are all well, and life is life-ing in the right direction for you!

July 2024 has definitely been an uphill battle but we made it. August is literally one day away, so tie a new knot in your rope and hang tight.

If you're like me then you've had times where you have questioned your existence, your purpose and may sometimes just be wondering what you have been doing or should be doing with you life.

Maybe you've asked what type of legacy am I leaving? Am I doing what I should be doing or is there more God requires of me?

These are all questions every believer has had a time or two. In these moments, we have to be reminded of God's saving grace and go back to His word. It's in there, that we can find the answers and get insight on what God has saved us from AND for. Let's dive in!!

I chose the title of this blog this week as Wired for Purpose after doing some devotional reading. The writer was talking about Peter- you know our favorite hot tempered sometimes too eager friend Peter- the disciple of Jesus. Peter was bold before he was called by Jesus, and he kept that same vigor (although sometimes misplaced) when he walked with Jesus. We see Peter stumble. He gets rebuked by Jesus for trying to delay His going to the cross. He gets hushed by God on the mountain of transfiguration and we see him carry a great emotional guilt when he denies knowing Jesus at all.

BUT we also see Peter RESTORED after Jesus rose from dead, he was also in the upper room when the spirit fell among the disciples. He also preached and hundreds got saved. We see him do miracles including healing a paralyzed man at the temple, and we see him preach boldly before a mob of Jews.

What we see is Peter is re-wired!

This is so encouraging to me. It basically shows how God uses the same attributes that once used to get Peter in trouble for His work in the kingdom.

The boldness that Peter had was now empowered by the Holy Spirit. The issue of Peter not holding his tongue or backing down from a fight- God now used to preach to other Jews and see them get saved!

I bet if you look back over your own life before Christ you will see where you miss-stepped as well. Maybe you had a knack for knowing all the details of what was going on, was involved in mess or gossip. But now God uses your attention to detail in ministry where you can cover all the bases or work administratively so church ministries and events can run smoothly.

Maybe before Christ you were always the go getter, the one who took charge even when your control was not warranted, but now in Christ you are a great leader. You follow thru on task and make sure Jesus is lifted instead of your own agenda.

What Satan may have used to entrap you, the Holy spirit now equips you and uses your will for the Kingdom. We all have been re-wired for God's service upon salvation.

The bible says in Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland". This verse encourages people to let go of the past and embrace their new identity in Christ. Romans 8: 2 says "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death".

Any electrician can tell you re-wiring something like a building or home can be very expensive. The cost can actually go up the more investigation and assessing the building is done. The inspector often finds more damage as he continues to inspect which raises the cost.

I believe God in His omnipresent knew just how depraved mankind would become the further and further we got away from the relationship we were meant to have with Him in the garden. This is why God Himself knew HE would have to redeem us and He did so in the Incarnate Person of Jesus Christ. He knew He would do the rewiring Himself. Because work to redeem us was so great- it required the greatest sacrifice - His redemptive blood.

I find it so interesting that those who were sold out the most for the devil- that once Christ saves them- they are THE most sold out for Him.

They often have the biggest impact in the kingdom.

Just like our friend Peter. When Peter was restored, he had a very great impact, he modeled our Savior so much, that he even was crucified like Jesus, but because he deemed himself unworthy , tradition states that he requested to be crucified upside down.

I want you to learn from this that you are new in Christ and re-wired with great purpose. Make sure you're plugged into the greatest light and power source which is Jesus.

You are a light , a city on a hill, an ambassador for Christ, saved for good works.

You are sealed with the Holy Spirit so let Him shine thru you, so that men may see and praise our Father in heaven. Our personalities were given to us by God. He can use them to reach the lost. Our personalities don't get in the way of working for Christ, our sin natures do. Your quirkiness, boldness, directness, confrontational approach , or upfront attitude are all attributes God can use. HE made you. What condemned you or was a hinderance to you before can be used for the kingdom once we give God His proper place on the throne of our hearts, yield our will and let Him transform our lives for His use.

So give Him your boldness, your speech, you high strung spirit, your attention to detail, your mind and your heart and watch Him use that to reveal your purpose.

Jesus left us all with one main purpose , and that was to go out into all the world and spread His gospel and there are many, many ways He can use you and your re-wired heart to do it.

Pray for great discernment and He will give it to you. GO shine bright.

Until next time,

Keep shining!

Scripture to meditate on:

Romans 6:4 - We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Ezekiel 11:19-And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,

1st Peter 1: 3-Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
